TheSunflower Throphy Races.
Not to much to write about.I went up in Alan's van on
the friday night. Saturday morning was bitter cold, but
it warmed up in no time at all and was a good dry day.
We had free practice and then 2 timed sessions.
I was 6th after the first practice and for the second
session, I was 2 seconds faster but still qualified 6th.
I was happy enough with that. The fastest I ever went
around Bishopscourt on a 400. 1:20. not too bad
considering i'm like a monkey on a peanut.
Race day came and so did the weather. Glorious
rain. Where else would you get it? Anyway, morning
warm up was about 5 laps, then race time.
I got a bad start and was nearly last after half a lap,
but i started to make up places fast. By the
checkered flag, I was in 8th and running faster than
the next 2 bikes. One more lap and I would have
finished 6th.
Race2. Got much better start and was in 4th after
3 laps. Tires were really bad and were sliding all over
the place. Managed no to loose too many places and
got over the line in 6th. Packed up and went home.
Race day was pretty miserable with the cold and rain.
Next up is the Celtic Match races in Mondello next
week.
