Saturday 31st May saw the start of the TT superbike race. 6 laps of the island totalling 225 miles in under 2
hours on a bike that has twice the horsepower of your average car. Not easy. But it was not to be for me.
After about 4 miles the radiator cap blew off and emptied the rad. I pulled in before the engine overheated
so no damaged was done but my race was over before it started. Lesson learned for the next time. The race
was won by Australian Cameron Donald from New Zealander Bruce Anstey. It was a race of attrition as both
John McGuinness and Guy Martin broke down while leading. As they say, to finish first, first you have to
finish.
