Connorracing.com was German racer Alfred Stark. Alfred previously the next job for him was to find a bike and it worked out ok for me to give him a bike for the weekend.
Practice went ok for him. He had never seen the track before so he had to do a lot of laps in the car. A little bit of advice from Alan and he was happy. The newcomers practice went good for him. He said the suspension was spot on and the bike (Honda RVF400) was running good. In the timed pracitce, Alfred realised that the gearing was a bit off as he needed more speed. Still he was happy with the bike and his practice. A tooth or two less will help for the race.
Alan's race report..... A last minute decision was made after Cookstown to eneter the Tandragee 100 races last weekend. Things didnt go according to plan at Cookstown with the bike trying to fire me off it at every available opportunity, so I headed to Tandragee to see if I could improve things with the bike. I got what I wanted and the practise was dry even though the road was fairly slippy with dirt on the road. I qualified in the second group for both the Open and Grand Final races. That alone was an improvment on Cookstown. We have had some problems with the change from Pirelli to Dunlop tyres. The way I had the bike set up for the Pirelli's didn't work at all with the Dunlops when we got to the bumps of the road races. As I am not doing the NW200, this was my last chance to chage things before the TT, and Tandragee is a fast bumpy track, good for finding problems. I went out in the races and basically used them as a setup test, changing things for each race. I found a few problems and fixed them, with the bike feeling much better in the last race. Its still not right but a lot better than before and we are going in the right direction. So all in all it was well worth going to Tandragee.
Next stop is our fundraising night on Saturday 9th May in O'Neills, Duleek.
